Three Lions Get Double Boost in Miami as Guehi and Rice Return to Full Training

England have received a major boost on the eve of their World Cup quarter-final clash with Norway, as defensive linchpin Marc Guehi and midfield cornerstone Declan Rice both took part in full team training at the Inter Miami training base. Guehi had been troubled by a hamstring strain, while Rice suffered gastrointestinal discomfort after the win over Mexico. However, on the night before this crucial tie, both have met the match-ready standards and completed all training drills alongside the squad, giving head coach Thomas Tuchel considerably more options in his tactical selection.

Aside from the return of the two key players, right-back Reece James also took part in the day's session as he nears the final stage of his own hamstring recovery. Based on current progress, he is expected to be named in the squad to face Norway. The only injury absentee at present is Jordan Henderson, who sustained a wrist injury after an awkward fall while celebrating the team's victory over Mexico at the Azteca Stadium. He has since undergone surgery and is now accompanying the squad as a non-playing member, continuing to provide support from the sidelines in Miami.

Notably, this training session marked England's first outdoor workout in Florida since they assembled before the tournament. Local temperatures hit 33°C, with humidity pushing the heat index well above that figure. However, the team have already adapted to similar humid and hot conditions through two indoor matches and three rain-soaked fixtures earlier in the tournament, making their return to Miami a well-prepared one.
